FAQ

  1. How do the disc repair machines operate?
    There are a lot of different regeneration technologies and each machine operates on the basis of the another regeneration technology. At first the most popular was the polishing of discs and this process consisted of many stages depending on the sort of scratches and machine. In order to get a good final visual effect of discs,which could be comparable with a new disc, there were used the polishing paper, polishing pads and polishing compound.

    Because usage of machines which required many stages of regeneration was very complicated, it was necessary to introduce machines which operate on the basis of the one-step regeneration technology. The French polish and the polishing pads are used for  process of regeneration. Thank to the one-step regeneration technology, the machines are easy to operate and the supplies to them are cheaper. While using of  first machines which operated on the basis of the one-step regeneration technology, the process of regeneration lasted very long. Nowadays time of regeneration is reduced thank to using of modern supplies such as: Cartridge PoliCool v.4 which is good for bluray discs and reduces time of regeneration. The another technology developed by an American Company Venmill is Opto Clear technology which uses the process of the heating of a disc`s surface and the melting of the mechanical demages to the original, smooth condition.   2. How many times can we repair the same optical carrier?
    Everything depends on the sort of the optical carrier. The protective layer of the optical carrier, which is regenerated, has depending on the sort of this optical carrier the different thickness. Because while the process of regeneration we wipe off the damaged layer of the optical carrier, the length and repetition of the process of regeneration is for each optical carrier (CD/DVD/BLU RAY etc.) different. You can repair several dozen of CDs ,dozen or so of DVDs and a few BLU RAY carriers. The exact number of regenerations is impossible to estimate and it depends on the sort of the disc repair machines and scratches on the discs too . During the process of regeneration you wipe off about 0,003mm of the protective layer of the optical carrier.   3. How many optical carriers can we repair by means of one repair kit if we use the device "Disc Buddy"?
    The exact number of regenerations by means of one repair kit is impossible to estimate. This number depends on the carrier`s damage, the sort of the disc repair machines and the sort of supplies. If the optical carrier has extreme scratches, we have to repeat the 5 minutes` process of regeneration several times.  If we will repair only extreme scratches by means of repair kit, we can repair only dozen or so of optical carriers. The described case occurs rarely or at all but this situation helps to understand what influences on the number of regenerations by means of one repair kit. If we use the more professional machines, we can estimate the number of regenerations easierbecause even if the optical carrier has extreme scratches, we have to repeat the process of regeneration no more than twice or three times. With the device "Disc Buddy" we can carry out 50 processes of regeneration by means of one bottle of Polish Compound.

  4. When should we exchange the Polish Compound (used in the device "Disc Buddy") for the new one?
    What does inform you about necessity of exchanging the Polish Compound for the new one?

    1. The device does not repair the optical carriers satisfyingly - for example: If you want to repair even the small scratches, you have to repeat the process of regeneration several times.
    2. The Polish Compound is dirty - it converts its colour into grey or black colour. It is the sign that this liquid contains a lot of impurities collected while the process of regeneration. The effectiveness of the Polish Compound is better when we clean the optical carriers before starting the process of regeneration.
    3. The condition of the Polish Compound after pouring it into a repair chamber of the unit is below minimum - this situation can have negative influence on the process of regeneration or lead to irreparable damage of the optical carrier. If you want to carry out the proper process of regeneration, you have to give the Polish Compound on the surface of the optical carrier to make this optical carrier cold enough and to get the good final regeneration`s effect. You can replenish the Polish to the optimal condition, but we would recommend you to exchange this Polish Compound for the new one. The Polish Compund disappears because it evaporates naturally or after you wipe off the excessive amount in final stage of the regeneration`s process. We would recommend you to empty the repair chamber every day.

  5. Do all devices repair Blu Ray and PS3 carriers?
    No, not all devices repair Blu Ray and PS3 carriers. It is caused by Blu Ray carrier`s structure and its thin protective layer. Against producer`s expectation, the Blu Ray carriers are susceptible to the damages(scratches). Because of the thin protective layer, the extreme damages reach into the layer of the optical carriers where the information is recorded what causes mechanical and irreparable carrier`s damages and even if all scratches will be repaired, the optical carrier will not be as effective as it was. In other carriers occur such serious situations rarely or at all, because of thick protective layer and the scratches have to be very deep. The best devices used for repairing of Blu Ray carriers are "The Uno" and Dual Disc II (thanks to PoliCool v.4).The less effective devices used for repairing of Blu Ray carriers are "Disc Buddy" and "Doctor".   6. Do all devices repair the optical carriers which are different in diameter?
    Yes, all devices repair optical carriers which are different in diameter. For less popular optical carriers such as Game Cube which are 8cm in diameter, there are used the special adapters in most devices. They are sometimes available with the devices and sometimes they can be bought as additional accesories. With the exception of the device "The Uno", which allows repairing all types of optical carriers without the necessity of installing of the adapter.

  7. Is it possible to repair all types of scratches by means of professional disc repair machines?

    Yes, we can repair all types of scratches during the process of regeneration. Depending on the sort of the device, time of regeneration is different. Some devices recommended for using at home eg.  Doctor, can completely repair scratches from the surface of the optical carriers. But it requires repetition of the regeneration`s process several times.
